Jacy graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Criminal Justice. After enlisting as a paralegal in the Air National Guard, she earned her law degree from Southern Illinois University School of Law.Upon earning Top Graduate of her class at Air Force Officer Training School, Jacy commissioned as a Judge Advocate (JAG) in the Air National Guard. At the Air Force Judge Advocate Staff Officer Course, she won the “Excellence in Advocacy Competition” for demonstrating the greatest skill and ability as a trial lawyer among all students.At our firm, she represents clients in several different practice areas, including heirs’ property and real estate litigation, matters of family law, criminal defense, estate planning, and probate. Since 2020, Jacy has gained a reputation for zealously advocating on behalf of black farmers and landowners faced with involuntary land loss in Alabama.Since 2021, she has served on the Expert Roundtable for the Federation of Southern Cooperative’s Heirs’ Property Bootcamp. Jacy also travels the country with a team created by the Southern Rural Development Center (SRDC) and Southern Disadvantaged Farmers and Ranchers (SDFR) Policy Center, training agricultural and university extension professionals on “Understanding Heirs’ Property at the Community Level.” Jacy serves on the Board of Directors for Alabama Goodwill Industries, the Executive Board for the Black Women Lawyers Association of Alabama, the Advisory Council for the Southern Risk Management Education Center, previously served as Family Law Committee Chair for the Birmingham Bar Association, is a Provisional Advisor for the Junior League of Birmingham, and a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. In 2022, she was recognized as The National Black Lawyers Top 40 under 40.
