Environmental & Natural Resources Attorney

As societies continue to shift to a more "Green" and conservationist attitude, companies and individuals are increasingly obtaining advice and representation from environmental attorneys for best practice methods.  Federal laws, as well as state laws, protect individuals, their property, and natural resources as a whole.

While states offer their own rules for how we maintain and live in the environment around us, these standards and regulations can never be less than the ones imposed by the federal government.

Common Environmental and Natural Resource Issues

  • Protection of wildlife (i.e. bald eagles, polar bears, etc.);
  • Nuisance laws (Both public and private nuisances);
  • Air pollution through the Clean Air Act;
  • Water pollution through the Federal Water Pollution Control Act;
  • Regulations placed upon commercial and industrial pollution (i.e. Factory smoke emissions);
  • Advising property owners, tenants, and prospective buyers on how to act in regards to harmful chemicals and other substances into the soil and water supply;
  • Other harmful substances placed in the soil through pesticides, insecticides, and other toxic substances;
  • Issues relating to the use and distribution of energy resources.

Environmental Laws

Environmental laws are strict and constantly changing, which makes it difficult to navigate through them.  An attorney skilled in this area of the law regularly deals with these standards handed down by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the federal government, and one’s own state government.  Contacting an environmental law attorney is often advantageous when obtaining any type of environmental inspection or report, and before purchasing real estate or undertaking another matter where some of these issues may arise.
